If there is one thing that everyone on the Internet can agree on, it must be that Spam is a frustrating waste of time.

Spam is junk mail, or Unsolicited Commercial Email, for those who are unfamiliar with the term. A good friend once said "Spam can turn a good day bad," and anyone who receives enough of it will certainly agree.

Spammers can dig up your email address in many different places. If your address has ever been listed anywhere on the Internet then sophisticated crawlers can find it and add it to their lists. If you have ever been required by a website to enter your address then the operators of that site may have sold it to a "Marketing" firm. Even in the most unsuspicious places there may be someone willing to sell your address to someone of shady morals. Have you ever received an e-card?

Fortunately there are a few things that we can do to help. We are pleased to offer two types of anti-spam techniques:

  • TMDA - The Tagged Message Delivery Agent.
  • SpamAssassin - Heuristic based message tagging and filtering.

These two methods can be combined to offer a convenient and effective way to fight spam.
