SpamAssassin is a program
that runs a series of weighted
tests on incoming messages. If the sum of the total of the scores
reachs your threshold then the message will be tagged as spam.
Once SpamAssassin considers a message "Spam" then any number of things can happen. The easiest, most fault tolerant approach is to alter the "Subject" line to indicate that the message has been tagged as "Spam." For example, a message with an original subject of: Make Money FAST!!!!will be changed to: ***Possible Spam*** Make Money FAST!!!!Your mail client can be configured to send all messages with a subject line containing the words "Possible Spam" to the trash or a special folder. At your convenience you can scan the folder and empty it if you wish. Spam caught by SpamAssassin can also be forwarded to another address, or challenged by TMDA. Return to Antispam. |
